I had decided last week to give this blogging up, but I will give it another go, I just feel Im not very good at it but hey ho!!!!
Today it has been snowing and Ive had to fetch my granddaughter from school its 13-15 miles from where I live so the journey there was pretty harrowing, but luckily on the way back it seems to be thawing a bit and it was just slushy everywhere.
Having pizza for tea with pineapple on the top - grand daughters choice - and then tea cakes for afters, I reckon we will be too full for them so will have one of those at supper time. She has hot dinners at school and luckily they are very good, good old fashioned mashed potatoes etc and they have to eat the majority of their dinner before they are allowed pudding so at least you know they are getting decent food.
Anyway frugalling today included saving bath water for flushing the toilet, and home cooking! I hope I can do better tomorrow!!!

Day 2
Well today has been a no no day, cos I havent really been doing anything!!
Went to work for 6am and I had to scrape the ice of the windowscreen before I set off - it was cold.
At break time I have a lunch really, cos its fills me up better than cereal, so I had half a packet of tom and garlic couscous with tinned tuna (the other half I had yesterday), came straight home - well got stuck in traffic but at least I was on my home and not going to somewhere urgent or for an appointment, phoned DD's to find out any news and then heated my spag bol up! I must say it was lovely Im really impressed to have my meals already done, its like having you own ready meals, but healthier.
And now Im sitting at computer and then going to have an early night as Im back in work at 6am and at my age I do need my sleep lol
I havent spent anything at all and I intend to keep it like that until Friday.
On the crafty front,I havent done any today, tomorrow I may have a look at my mags to see what freebies I havent done and get started, I dont want to buy any more mags or crafty stuff until I start knitting for soon to be born DGC3 in March - I want a month without spending much at all to see how much a difference its makes to the OD and Im hoping its a positive one!!

Well here I go again, but this time Im writing everyday in February as I have joined in a challange on MSE!!
So, I have £72 to last me until the last day of February - a bit scarey, but I really want to reduce my OD and its the only way I can do it.
Yesterday, I made a menu to last a week and it will be repeated weekly for the full four weeks, it is
Dinners:
Chilli con carne (made and froze 4 portions)
Spag Bol (made and froze 4 portions)
Veg Pie (made and froze 4 portions)
Something on toast x 4
Fish dish x 4 (I have plenty of fish in the freezer)
Toad in hole or something similiar with sausages/burgers x 4
Stew x 4
Lunches:
To take to work, rice, pasta or couscous
At home HM soup, something on toast
Breakfast:
Porridge
I put £20 of diesel in the car today and this is to last me the four weeks, I know its not much but I have about 3/4 tank now and I aim to use it for going back and forth to work only. During Valentines week Im looking after DGD for a few days and as its a school week her mum is giving me fuel money to take her (its about 12 miles away)
I have allowed myself £42 for food (doable as I still have quite a stock in), £20 fuel and £10 for a treat on 28/02!!!!!
I am also going to cut down on gas and electric usage over this period as well and aim on cutting down because I dont want my DD to go up, so I will post this on a weekly basis, usually on a Tuesday cos thats when I normally take my readings
I want to do this as I thought I was being very careful during January, and I was but my OD went up a little but I had paid a water bill, holiday deposit and tax disc, so really when you take that into account an increase of £40 is really good.
So my shopping today was:
cereal 49p
Cabbage 39p
lettuce 89p
Onions 39p
Carrots 39p
Milk x 2 £2
Hayfever tablet £2
Total including fuel £26.55 leaving £35.45 for food (and £10 treat)
I plan on just spending on a Friday, but not sure if this will work out or not, anyway off for my Chilli
See ya!
